Mother’s Day!

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born.  She never existed before.  The woman existed, but the mother, never.  A mother is something absolutely new.  ~Rajneesh

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you Mom’s.  Here are a few Mother’s Day cupcakes ideas I have…..

Luau themed party!!

My youngest, my daughter Quinn is turning 8 in May. She is having her first slumber party with more than 1 other child….oh this should be interesting. Quinn is all girl, and I often refer to her as my glitter bug, because she loves to wear sequins and glitter, I think she would wrap herself in lights if I would let her…lol.  She has a rather large bucket list for such a small little girl, the number one spot on her list is to go to Hawaii! As a result, she has decided to have her slumber party be a Hawaiian luau theme!  She couldnt be more excited!  She has opted for cupcakes for her party, ones that she and Mom make, so we jumped on the internet to find the perfect cupcakes for she and her friends!  So far she is torn between the two…..any votes?

Summer and Sunflowers

I often explore the internet and magazines in search of new, fun and creative cupcake ideas. Both of my daughters enjoy decorating cupcakes and trying out new decorating tools! We have had some of the most interesting, and down right ugly cupcakes through their trials….these gems have also produced the most fun and laughter in my kitchen. :) .  One son eats the cupcakes only if there is no frosting on them…is a cupcake a cupcake without frosting? Silly boy! The other son’s theory is….the more frosting the better…he is my sugar lover!  My all time favorite flower and summer symbol is the sunflower, so I decide to find a sunflower cupcake idea, low and behold I found an adorable idea…..the below link will be the girls’ next edible project…stay tuned for results!

Easter Baking Fun!

There are so many cute ideas out there for Easter cupcakes. Usually, the kids and I will make a bunny cake. Every year when I was a kid, my grandma would make us a bunny cake, one for each set of grand kids she had, which meant 6 bunny cakes! I loved her bunny cakes. Unfortunatley, she didnt live long enough to make my kids her bunny cake, so now we make the bunny cake! This year, we are opting for bunny cupcakes. After exploring the bunny cupcake options, we decided on these adorable ones!  Happy Easter to everyone. :)
